Are you a mental health entrepreneur looking to go into private practice on your own? Maybe you’ve been in private practice for a while and are looking to expand by hiring additional providers and further developing your business?
If you don’t know where to start, our team can help with that! We provide consulting assistance on the following topics, within the state of Iowa:
Therapist, Consultant, Founder
I have been practicing as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Iowa since 2009 and have worked in several different areas of the field. I worked in the non-profit setting for many years before moving into the private practice setting. Over the course of my career I have worked as a clinician, clinician supervisor, program developer, consultant, and have built a successful group private practice from the ground up. I am credentialed as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) and I have expertise working with health insurance companies, EAP’s, and billing from start to finish through various provider portals and electronic health records.
Insight Therapy Group offers mental health counseling for children, adults, couples and families, in addition to medication management for all ages, group therapy, and intensive couples therapy. We offer a mix of private pay and insurance-billed services. I am available for consultation on mental health counseling private practice development (group or independent), management of clinical staff (including clinical supervision), and electronic billing for mental health and medication management appointments.
Establishing Your Practice
There are so many steps that need to be taken to protect you and your well being as you get started! From state-level paperwork to business insurance to ensuring the space you are in is catering to the clientele you want to be working with. We can work with you from the behind-the-scenes business side all the way through the aesthetics of how you want your practice to present to others.
Credentialing And Contracting Assistance
Choosing which insurances to panel with can be difficult. We’ll help you consider the pros and cons of in-network vs. out-of-network insurance participation, and help you move toward starting the credentialing process for insurance companies you wish to work with.
Hiring And Management Of Admin And Clinical Staff
It’s incredibly important for you to make well-thought out choices regarding who and what to look for when you are hiring staff. Your admins are often the first people prospective clients see or speak to when they are starting services, and your clinical staff are representing your practice’s mission and values. Ensuring the candidates you choose are the best fit for meeting the needs of your unique practice is essential.
Insurance Billing Assistance
From the basics of billing insurance for your sessions to more complex issues, we can help you to problem solve and continue moving forward when these issues inevitably arise.
Business Development
As your practice grows, diversifying your funding sources and the services you offer may be something you want to consider. We can discuss strategies to broaden your business model to include additional resources for your clientele.
“Jenny was instrumental in helping me open my private practice. She is knowledgeable, supportive, and accessible. Jenny helped me with any question I had; if she didn’t know the answer right away, she found it for me. Jenny stays up to date with the ever-changing laws surrounding mental health in our state, so I always trusted her guidance when I was unsure about something. Jenny was a valuable guide in every facet of my practice, from the initial logistics right down to the final drafts of the forms for my practice. I’d recommend Jenny to anyone who is thinking about starting the journey into private practice. I’d have been lost without her!“
– Katie Amos, MA, LMFT, RPT
“I cannot say enough about how instrumental Jennifer Becker was in helping me get my private practice up and running. It was a very quick process and her guidance was extremely appreciated. Her advice on which things to outsource and WHO/WHERE to outsource them was so helpful and I am still using the vendors/services she recommended. From helping through credentialing, billing claims, posting remittances, running revenue reports and payroll, I am so grateful I had her to help me get started! Transitioning to a group practice was also much easier because of her guidance. Along the way she has answered various questions for me as they have come up and I am forever grateful for her ongoing support!“
– Melissa Paulsen, MA, LMFT, RPT-S
“I can say without a doubt that I wouldn’t be where I am in my career without Jenny. She is a wealth of knowledge whether it’s insurance, private practice set up, supervision, ethics, training, policies and procedures. . . The list goes on and on. If there is a question, she has an accurate and honest answer. I am so thankful for her attention to detail and time spent to help others be successful and happy in their careers!”
– Thea Bedell, LMHC, RPT
“Working with Jennifer in consultation has taken my practice management and leadership skills to another level. Jennifer is as skilled in advising you on a crisis as she is guiding your day to day operations. I’ve been able to hire well, make more strategic and grounded decisions, develop new standard operating procedures and policies all with her guidance. When new questions arise I go to Jennifer first; she cares very much about your success and approaches everything with a centered expertise you rarely find!“
